The next morning, Jonathan met me in the lobby of the hotel to say goodbye. I thanked him for pushing me to attend the event. My mind was swirling with all the revelations, my heart brimming with emotions. I felt like I was on the horizon of a new understanding, of a new way forward.

“You were an angel reaching through to grab me,” I told him. “I was in a dark spot. I’m still recovering, but I have more hope for the future now.”

I was high on the energy of the week and the idea that anything was possible. I took a breath. “I’ve been thinking about your question,” I said. “About how we can work together. What if…you guys acquired Embrace?”

Jonathan tilted his head, thoughtful. “Hmm,” he said. “Interesting idea. Let’s keep talking. That’s certainly not off the table.”

I tried to maintain a cool facade, but inside I was squealing with joy.

On the ride to the airport, I sat in the backseat of the taxi, watching the blur of city streets go by as a wave of awe washed over me. Was this really happening? Maybe Embrace would be saved. But deep down, I was beginning to understand: this wasn’t just about saving the company. This was about finally facing the wounds I’d spent a lifetime outrunning. I couldn’t step into what was next without reckoning with what came before. And I knew exactly who could help me do that. Her name was Christine Price.
